City Of Oak Hill Discusses Next Steps For Minden

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY)- Governor Jim Justice released a statement yesterday regarding PCB contamination in Minden and the City Of Oak Hill met today to discuss the next steps.

Governor Justice said in his release that the EPA told him that there is not an immediate threat to the public in Minden.

The City of Oak Hill sent out letters to residents that were affected by PCB contamination yesterday and Wednesday to let them know that the area is safe for them and their families.

“Our ultimate goal is to clean up the sewage in Minden, WV to  make a healthy situation in Minden and to clean up Arbuckle Creek that flows directly to a national river and it is critical that we do that,” said Bill Hannabass, City of Oak Hill Manager.

The EPA will be hosting meetings next Friday and Saturday, March 16th and 17th, at the New Beginning Apostolic Church in Minden to share results from the last sampling and to share that Minden is safe.
