City of Bluefield Will Host Christmas Tree Lighting

BLUEFIELD – The City of Bluefield and its Beautification Commission will be lighting the City Christmas Tree at Rotary Green Park Monday December 4, 2017 at 6:00 pm to kick off the holiday season!

“Celebrations like the tree lighting are very special,” said Beautification Chair Gail Satterfield. “They bring neighbors together and help build a sense of community.”

The 2017 tree lighting will feature students from Memorial and Whitethorn Elementary School. Those students will be leading the carol singing that is open to the entire community. David’s Downtown will be serving free hot chocolate and members of the Beautification Commission will be passing out candy canes to children, young and old.

“We want to pay a special thank you to the firefighters at the Bluefield Fire Department who have strung the lights and maintain the display every year.” said City Manager Dane Rideout. “We look forward to a great evening with the Bluefield community.”
