UPDATE: Child Hit By A Vehicle After Getting Off School Bus

BLUEFIELD, WV (WOAY) – A child was hit by a vehicle after getting off a school bus.

It happened on US Route 460 eastbound in front of the Go-Mart in the Green Valley area.  The child was taken to the Hospital and is in stable condition.  She has many cuts and bruises.

Chief Deputy Joe Parks tells WOAY that the 5-year-old girl is “lucky to be alive”.   She saw her father when she got off the bus and ran across 5 lanes of traffic. No charges will be filed against the driver.

Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, Princeton Rescue, and Bluefield Rescue responded to the scene.
