CHARLESTON, WV- After a wreck and nowhere for a dog to go, a Charleston Police Officer looks after the dog.
Ptlm. Reed responded to a crash on the interstate where a young female driver was involved in a crash with her beloved dog, “Kobe”, in the car.
The driver received some injuries and was to be transported to the hospital without her dog.
With no Animal Control Officers on duty and dangerous conditions on the interstate, Ptlm Reed had very few options for Kobe . The drivers parents were responding to Charleston from Greenbrier County but with a few hour delay. Ptlm. Reed called Sgt. Sharp and asked if he could care for Kobe until the family arrived .
The request was granted. Reed transported Kobe to CPD roll call where kobe entertained other policeman for a while .
The family later responded and almost broke down in tears in response to Ptlm . Reed’s kindness in watching over Kobe and making this bad situation a little better.
Merry Christmas, Charleston!
