Charistin Clark is the morning meteorologist for WOAY-TV. She is very excited to inform Southern West Virginia of what the weather will be like for the week.
Charistin grew up in a military family but mainly grew up in Virginia Beach, Virginia. There, she grew up watching WAVY-TV, which helped her develop a passion for weather at 8 years old. She would stand in front of the TV and pretend to broadcast the weather and would watch The Weather Channel 24/7.
After graduating high school and moving to Tennessee, she began school at Marshall University in August of 2015. She faced life-altering obstacles, but never gave up her dream of becoming a meteorologist. Charistin graduated from Marshall in May of 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Geography with a concentration in Weather Broadcasting and with two minors in Meteorology and Criminal Justice.
While at Marshall, Charistin began practicing her broadcasting skills through a Marshall student-directed YouTube show called “Up to the Minute” in 2016. During the summer of 2018, she completed an internship at WCHS-TV in Charleston, West Virginia. She also was an anchor and a weather broadcaster for WMUL, Marshall’s radio station in the spring of 2017 and from 2018-2019.
Charistin enjoys all types of weather but especially loves severe weather and hurricanes. When she isn’t working, she enjoys painting and taking pictures, especially of lightning. She also enjoys hanging out with her friends and family and loves cheering on the Herd! Her favorite movie is none other than Anchorman, for obvious reasons.
