NICHOLAS CO., WV (EMAIL FROM KRIS MARRA, CHLOE’S OWNER) – On Monday, December 18th I was driving through Summersville from Pittsburgh, headed to my new home in Venice, Florida.
On what would have been a hard earned new beginning, the day turned into a nightmare!!
My beloved 9 year old cat got spooked while we were around the intersection of School Rd & Service Rd.
She went crazy, slipped her collar & bolted into a dense, wooded area that some say is about 400 acres. She jumped over a wire fence that I couldn’t climb. It was my own fault for taking her out of the car on a leash to give her a chance to relieve herself so I am just devastated.
I spent 2 nights at the Quality Inn on Industrial Dr. with my other cats in tow. I searched through the woods On Monday until dark & from 8 AM until dark on Tuesday.
I talked to neighbors & businesses with no luck. I was really struck by the kindness of the people of Summersville over my missing cat! The hotel posted on Facebook, the Nicholas County Animal Shelter helped, state police, local police, the really kind people @ Southern States Farm House & Garden, & many others.
Unfortunately I have other pets to care for & I needed to leave yesterday, Wednesday, December 20th for a long, sad drive to Florida.
Chloe is a member of our family & we need help from your community to get her back. She is microchipped for identification, but not everyone knows about microchipping. I am happy to pay a reward for her return!!! In the spirit of Christmas, would you please consider putting this on your news?
I need to do everything that I can to insure her safe return! Thank you for your consideration & please consider to let others in your community know how wonderful the people of Summersville are!
Even if Chloe isn’t returned, I will never forget the kindness that I was shown passing through. Thank you!! Merry Christmas.
