Candlelight Vigil Will Be Held For 2-Year-Old Who Died From Abuse In Mercer county

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY) – A candlelight vigil will be held this week for a 2-year-old boy who died after being abused.

On Tuesday, August 21, 2018, The Child Protect of Mercer County will hold a candlelight vigil beginning at 8 pm at the Mercer County Courthouse lawn.

There will also be a designated place for people to place cards and memories of JoJo.

Joseph “JoJo” Garbosky was killed after the live-in boyfriend, John Powers, body slammed the child in the bathtub, gave him third-degree burns, broken bones, and brain bleeds. The mother of the child, Candice Jones, witnessed the abuse but did nothing to stop it.

Both are in jail under a 500,000 dollar bond.
