Candlelight vigil was held for a 2-year old boy, who was body slammed by his mother’s boyfriend

PRINCETON, WV (WOAY)- A heartbreaking story as a candlelight vigil was held for a 2-year old boy, who police say was body slammed by his mother’s boyfriend.

The sky lit up with candlelight for little Joseph Garbosky given the nickname, Jojo.

Friends and family remember the toddler as a joy to be around.

The community of Princeton has come together to remember Jojo and keep his spirit alive.

Jojo died last week from injuries police say he got at the hands of his mother’s boyfriend.

Newswatch spoke with a nearby neighbor of the family who says she’s glad this event took place,

“It makes me feel happy that there are multiple people want justice for him. Once justice is served, everything will be okay and at least something has been done for the little boy,” said Jessica Woods.

John Powers and Candace Thompson are both charged in Jojo’s death.

Police say Thompson watched and did nothing when powers allegedly body slammed the Jojo who was in the bathtub.
