LANSING, WV (WOAY)- Veterans Day is we remember and thanks to those who served. One business is offering discounts for Veterans Day.
The Bridgewalk at the new river gorge bridge will discounting prices for Veterans Day week here’s why. “Today we are commemorating Veterans Day it’s been yesterday was the 100 year anniversary of the armistice which ended World War One. And that has evolved into Veterans Day and just like other occasions throughout the year we commemorate that with a discount” said Doug Coleman a tour guide for Bridgewalk.
People came from out the state to take advantage of the discount. “One of the reasons is that this weekend they have the Veterans Day discount so we wanted to capitalize on that” said Jacob Detter from Charlottesville, VA.
The bridge walk is a 6/10 of mile long while you’re 851 ft above ground. It is way higher up then it looks. “It feels pretty crazy I already have little bit of fear of heights but I’m kinda getting over that fear now ” said Jacob Detter.
The bridge walk has one of the most breath taking views and nerve racking views of the new river gorge. Don’t take my word from it. “It was very cold today but it was very cool I’m I didn’t really like it when it shaked but i was awesome” said Miranda Tolley from Charlottesville, VA. “People don’t really realize how high up you are when you’re on the bridge. The view was amazing and were definitely coming back” said Jacob Detter.
