Bridge Walk sees influx of tourists over recent weeks

LANSING, WV (WOAY) – Tourists from all over are visiting Fayette County this holiday weekend.

Many of them are heading to the New River Gorge. Bridge Walk, the popular service that takes people underneath the bridge’s catwalk, has seen a boom in tourists in recent months, especially during this Labor Day Weekend.

Doug Coleman, a tour Guide with Bridge Walk says they’ve had many tourists leave happy after seeing the bridge for the first time.

“Business has been good, we’ve seen a lot of guests come in, lots of visitors. The New River Gorge Bridge is a remarkable structure. And it’s a privilege to be able to share that with people not only from West Virginia, but throughout the country,” Coleman said.

In the last month, Bridge Walk has seen tourists from 48 states.
