Brace for extreme cold; Then 30's on Sunday

OAK HILL, WV (BY: METEOROLOGIST ALYSA CARSLEY, WOAY) – The cold air hasn’t reached us yet, but the winds have. We are dealing with those pesky below zero wind chills this morning.

We will have light snow showers/ flurries tonight lasting through Friday, possibly seeing up to 3″ in the highest elevations.

But as we head into the afternoon, our high temperatures won’t recover. They stay in the teens with a few snow showers still possible.

We keep gusty winds throughout the day Friday. We could see wind chill temperatures making into the double digits below zero.

Highs stay in the teens as we go into Saturday. A wind chill advisory is in effect through 1 PM Friday and a wind chill watch is in effect for this evening through Saturday across much of our area.

We make it above freezing on Sunday with a high of 35 degrees and then back into the 40s come Monday. More snow chances return early next week.
