Bolte Receives Second Player of the Week Honor

WOAY – Concord’s Tommy Bolte has been named the Mountain East Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for a second time this season.

The junior guard averaged 38 points in the Mountain Lions’ two wins last week over Charleston & West Virginia, including a 46-point performance against the Yellow Jackets. Though he has missed several games with an injury, Bolte has averaged 37.6 points in five games this season.

Concord’s two wins put the Mountain Lions at 3-1 in MEC play, with the school holding a doubleheader Tuesday against Glenville State. The Lady Lions collected their first conference win Saturday against West Virginia State.

Also on Monday, Marshall junior Jon Elmore was named Conference USA’s Player of the Week for the second time this season. He averaged 27 points as the Thundering Herd lost to William & Mary, but won over Akron. Marshall hosts Chattanooga on Tuesday night.
