GREENBRIER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – The Lewisburg Water System is under a system-wide Boil Water Advisory effective immediately for all customers.
During boil water advisories you should boil all water used for drinking, preparing food, beverages, ice cubes, washing fruits and vegetables, or brushing teeth.
In the event that boiling is not practical, please consult your local public health authority (Greenbrier County Health Department) or other responsible authority who may direct you to disinfect the water using household bleach, or to use an alternative supply known to be safe.
Water Plant treatment and distribution operations are now functioning as designed. There should be gradual improvements in all tank levels overnight and throughout the day tomorrow provided no new problems arise.
The mandatory water conservation order and the Boil Water Advisory is still in effect until further notice.
