Bluefield Virginia Fire Chief Has Passed Away

BLUEFIELD, V.A. (WOAY) – The Bluefield Virginia Fire Department is mourning the loss of their Fire Chief.

Bluefield Fire Department released the following statement:

“It is with great sadness, and a heavy heart, that the Bluefield Virginia Fire Department announces the passing of our fire chief, Jim Hardy. With over 65 years of service, Chief Hardy has truly dedicated his life to the Fire service and the continuing improvement of our Fire Department. His legacy will live on while we begin to pay our final respects to our fallen leader. Service arrangements will be announced when finalized.

Rest In Peace Chief Hardy, we’ll take it from here…”
