Bluefield man charged for hitting a disabled woman

BLUEFIELD, WV (WOAY) – A man is in jail after facing charges of abuse and neglect of an incapacitated adult.

According to the Bluefield Police Department, a domestic call was made on June 27, 2020.  When police arrived at the home, they found a woman lying in bed with a knot on the left side of her face and had been lying in her feces.  The victim told police she had been lying there for several days and that her brother, Doug Casey had been mean to her.  Officers say it was very difficult to walk through the home due to the trash and other items that were scattered around.  When police asked her how she got the knot and the black eye, she told them, “my brother hit me.”

Doug Casey was charged with domestic battery and abuse/neglect of an incapacitated adult.  He is in Southern Regional Jail under a 3,000 dollar bond.
