Blue Ridge Beef recalls some of its pet food due to salmonella contamination

West Virginia (CNN)- Nearly six thousand pounds of Blue Ridge beef pet food has been recalled due to salmonella contamination. 

According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the recall is for its two-pound log natural mix. 

The pet food was distributed between January 3-24. 

It was sold in multiple states, including Virginia. 

The food should not be given to pets. 

The FDA advises consumers to return this product to the store for a refund or throw it away.
