MT.HOPE, WV (WOAY)—Cars filled the parking lot and people lined the Crossroads Mall in search of Black Friday sales early Friday morning.
Three friends who were out all night shopping explained why they came out, “To have fun. Get the deals. We wanted to have a girls night with my mom,” said Shania Lester, Jaiden Cline and Nikki Coen.
Official holiday shopping kicked off at 5am this morning at the Crossroads Mall. Shoppers were abound looking for deals.
Stores displayed deals and giveaways that attracted early morning eager shoppers who were enjoying the warmth of the mall while making their purchases.
“Good deals and get an early start to shopping. Just to get some stuff taken care of. Busy every other time, so why not do it early,” said Hunter Warden, a Beckley area resident, who found some deals.
Store workers were thrilled to see the amount of people that attended Black Friday shopping this year.
“We’ve actually been really busy. This is probably the busiest we’ve been since back to school,” said Sabrina Keel, store manager of Aeropostale.
While Black Friday deals will continue all weekend, many came early to participate in the excitement, avoid afternoon crowds, and shop for holiday gifts. Some even came to rest while waiting for their families to finish shopping.
