Beckley Will Kick Off Small Business Saturday With Scavenger Hunt And Much More

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Support local and shop small in downtown Beckley on Saturday, Nov. 24th! Activities include a scavenger hunt, tree lighting ceremony, caroling, vendors, rock hunting, toy, and coat drive, Santa and Mrs. Claus, store sales and giveaways, free shop small swag, and prizes!

Scavenger hunt clues will be available at the following participating businesses on the day of shop small, business hours vary: Kilted Barber 9AM-1PM, On Point Acupuncture 9AM-3PM, Taya & Abraham’s International Grocery 9AM-10PM, Top Knot 10AM- 4PM, Tickety Boo Mercantile 10AM-5PM, Roma Pizza and Grill 11AM-11PM, Dragon’s Den Comics and Games 11AM-7PM, School of Harmony NOON-3PM, Brown Dog Bottom NOON-4PM, The Raleigh Playhouse and Theatre NOON-4PM, and Publicity 4PM-2AM.

Special activities include an Arctic Arcade with Santa and Mrs. Claus at Brown Dog Bottom, local vendors at Tickety Boo Mercantile and The Raleigh Playhouse, specials at Kilted Barber and Dragon’s Den, giveaways and sales at On Point Acupuncture and more! The Beckley Women’s Club will be collecting new and used toys, coats, and gloves between 4 pm- 5 pm at the Word Park gazebo. Active SWV is also having a Justify the Pie group walk and bike ride on the McManus Trail at 2 pm meeting at the 3rd Ave trail lot/mural.

As you solve the scavenger hunt clues, be sure to look for the golden painted rock. A bonus prize will be awarded to the locator of the golden rock! Completed scavenger hunt clues and the golden rock must be turned in between 4pm-5pm at the Word Park gazebo. Enjoy the City’s Christmas tree lighting festivities at Word Park beginning at 4:30 with caroling led by Heaven’s Harmony and Mia Bailey, plus hear name drawn for the scavenger hunt prize.
