Beckley Police to hold a sobriety checkpoint on August 24

Beckley, WV (WOAY)—The Beckley Police Department will hold a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday, August 24, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. 

The checkpoint will be on Second Street at Thornhill Courts, with an alternate location on Johnstown Road at Jefferson Street. 

The purpose of the checkpoint is to deter impaired driving and educate the public about the dangers of driving while under the influence.
