UPDATE: Beckley Police Capture Violent Offender

UPDATE: (11/2 3:00 P.M.) – The Beckley Police Department tells Newswatch that Kenneth DeWayne Smith III has been captured.

After a search between the Beckley Police Department and US Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force officers found Smith located on Hull Street near the intersection with Mason Street in Beckley.


BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The Beckley Police need your help locating a wanted person who is a violent offender with a long list of charges.  A cash reward may be paid for information leading to his arrest.

The Beckley Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance is locating a violent offender wanted on a laundry list of charges from incidents dating back to 2015.

Kenneth DeWayne Smith III, 23, black male, 5’7″, weighs 155 pounds, has black hair and brown eyes.  Smith’s last known address is Thurmond Street in Beckley, WV.

These incidents involve domestic battery, malicious wounding and burglary (by breaking and entering) to commit domestic battery.

Anyone with information on the subject’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Beckley Police Department at 304-256-1720 or Crime Stoppers of WV at 304-255-STOP (7867). The subject should be considered extremely dangerous. CASH REWARDS may be paid for information leading to his arrest.
