BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Mayor Rob Rappold celebrates after being re-elected mayor of Beckley.
Rappold had five candidates opposing him, all of which he said would have done well in office.
Instead of waiting for the results and celebrating at the courthouse as many candidates did last night, Rappold went home to wait for the results with his wife.
“We were quite happy,” said Rappold. “It was a happy place to be. I stayed up a little too late returning texts and emails and chatting with my wife, so it was pretty well into the night and early morning before I turned in.”
Looking forward, Mayor Rappold hopes to keep up his momentum to complete the plaza where the infamous Beckley hole once was and finish the new fire department.
