Beckley man charged with incest

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – A man is in jail charged with incest and sexual assault.

According to court documents, a sexual encounter occurred at the home of Ronald Lee Christian Jr. back in the summer of 2019.  The victim had been out with friends and had consumed a large quantity of alcohol. Around midnight, the victim was transported to Christian’s home.  Christian and his girlfriend helped get the victim on the couch in the living room, where she fell asleep.

The victim awoke to Christian performing sexual acts.  The victim told him to stop, which he did.  Later in the night, Christian returned and made a more aggressive sexual act on the victim and instructed her to be quiet and placed his hand over her mouth.  The victim was afraid to defend herself in fear of violence.

A sexual assault examination was performed, and Christian’s DNA was present in four different areas.  When police asked Christian about it, he denied all allegations.  Christian went on to say the DNA must have come from the victim throwing up on him, which made him throw up on her.  More DNA samples were performed, which showed biological fluids to match from the victim to the suspect.

Christian is charged with incest and 2nd-degree sexual assault.  He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 150,000 dollar bond.
