Beckley Man Arrested For Screaming And Threatening A Female Victim With A Gun

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – The Beckley Police Department Arrested a man for screaming and threatening a woman with a firearm.

On 5-16-18 at approximately 9:30pm Beckley Police responded to a disturbance in the area on Alexander Av. Beckley, WV.

Officers spoke with a female victim who reported that a male had threatened and assaulted her. As the victim was walking on the street a male approached her screaming and threatening her with a firearm.

The victim was then kicked by the suspect and then ran from the area.  

Officers were able to locate the suspect who at first denied any involvement. Officers were able to obtain surveillance video from the area corroborating the victim’s account of the events.  

One person was arrested:

Chris Stover, 35, of Beckley, WV was charged with wanton endangerment with a firearm, unlawful possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and battery.

The defendant is at the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $25,000 bond.
