WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The skies will be the best they will be all week today with partly sunny skies before Tuesday night bring the thunder (and lightning and heavy rain) across the region. Meteorologist Christian Boteler has the details:
After the nice day today and into Tuesday afternoon, the low-pressure in the Dakotas right now will be making its way here by nighttime Tuesday. The severe weather risk is marginal with some damaging winds and hail possible, with the main concern being flooding. 1-2″ of rain are expected to fall in the next 48 hours, causing some water issues for vulnerable areas. Here’s a look at the projected totals:

The rain will not be done after Tuesday, though showers through the rest of the work week will be lighter and on & off, giving us some needed rain for the growing season. A cold front will blow through Thursday as well, bringing the high temperatures for the end of the week into the low-to-mid 60s. Saturday will be the next beautiful day with mostly sunny skies as high pressure pushes the last of the showers out before another line of showers comes Sunday afternoon.
