MERCER COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Mercer County has seen a series of thefts over the past week.
Lieutenant Jeff Ruble says the most recent thefts were from work vehicles with exterior compartments. While authorities investigate and search for a suspect, there is a variety of precautions you can take to protect your belongings.
“Typically, what they’re looking for is unlocked vehicles,” said Ruble. “The biggest thing is just making sure that you keep your vehicles locked at night. Don’t leave anything out in plain view. Take all your valuables in.”
Authorities are unsure if the thefts are connected.
