Attorney General Morrisey Issues Statement on Abortion Bill Passage

CHARLESTON — Attorney General Patrick Morrisey issues the following statement regarding Monday’s passage of Senate Joint Resolution 12:

“I applaud the passage of this resolution because it upholds the moral and ethical standards of West Virginia.

“We have a duty to protect life for the most vulnerable among us. This decision sets the state on a pathway to reverse a terrible and legally flawed decision that forced West Virginia taxpayers to subsidize abortions for 25 years.

“I believe the voters of this state will hold every life in the highest regard.”
