Oak Hill, WV (WOAY) – Attorney General Patrick Morrisey urges consumers to be careful when considering credit card offers this holiday season.
Individuals will likely see increased credit card offers as the holiday shopping season begins.
While buy now, pay later options are attractive, Morrisey advises consumers to ensure the offer is legit.
While deferred interest promotions guarantee zero percent interest through December 2024, not paying off the entire balance by the promotion period deadline could burden consumers with an interest charge that dates to the original purchase date.
Before responding to a credit offer, Morrisey suggests doing an online search if the company looks unfamiliar, calling the offering company directly if an offer seems suspicious, and avoiding giving out personal information.
