OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – Oak Hill senior Ashby West signed his letter of intent Tuesday to wrestle at Fairmont State University next season.
West, who will graduate from Oak Hill High School as one of the most accomplished wrestlers in Red Devil history, won more than 150 career individual matches; he was runner-up in his weight class at the 2019 state championships and finished third in 2020. He plans to major in business with an emphasis in digital marketing.
West says there are many things he’s learned over the course of his high school career that will benefit him in college, and says the Falcons’ positive team culture played a role in his decision.
