Appalachian Regional Healthcare launches system wide volunteer program

Beckley, WV (WOAY)—Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is reviving a vital community effort with the relaunch of its enhanced, system-wide volunteer program.

The initiative, now unified across all ARH facilities in Kentucky and West Virginia, aims to strengthen patient care and community support by placing volunteers at the heart of its mission.

Unlike before, when each hospital ran its own volunteer program, the new system connects volunteers with a wide range of options across multiple facilities, including roles in art displays, music therapy, and more.

The program is now accepting applications for individuals 18 and older.

A youth program is also in the works.

The relaunch is critical as Eastern Kentucky recovers from devastating tornadoes.

ARH says being better prepared to respond in times of crisis was a key reason behind the program’s restructuring.
