Annual Hunks in Heels fundraiser brings in sold out crowd

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – Despite most events being canceled in the area, the annual Hunks in Heels fundraiser was held Friday night at the Beckley Moose Lodge.

Eighteen men from the community put on heels and then they put on a show for the sold out crowd.

All proceeds went to the Register-Herald’s Newspapers in Education program and the Humane Society of Raleigh County.

For the past few months, the men have been raising money on their own as people could vote for them for $1, and then they had the opportunity to raise more money from the crowd that night.

Cody Reedy was named the winner at the end of the night for raising the most money.

“It makes me feel really good that our community will show up and support us pretty much at any event and anything we try to do to keep the shelter going,” Humane Society President Nancy Johnson said.

The fundraising totals have not been released yet.
