An Oak Hill Man Arrested After Leaving 10 Month Old Baby Alone In Reach of Meth

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – An Oak Hill man is facing several charges; including child neglect after he left his 10 month old in reach of meth.

On Sunday, May 27, 2018, Fayette County Deputies were called to a welfare check in Oak Hill for an unattended 10 month old.

The father, Dylan Dossett, 26, admitted to the the Deputy that he left he child for five minutes to walk down the road to get a cigarette.  The father showed signs of aggression, paranoia, delusion, and under the influence of a controlled substance.

The Deputy went upstairs and found a 10 month old baby lying in a crib with a spoon that had a tan powered substance on it.

The substance tested positive for meth during a field test.

Once the deputy tried to arrest Dossett, he pulled away and pushed the Deputy. Once in the car, Dossett banged his head against the cage and glass door. The Deputy then had to hog tie Dossett because he got the cuffs that secure the back and front.

Dossett is charged with child neglect, obstructing an officer, disorderly conduct, and possession of a controlled substance.

Dossett is being held in the Southern Regional Jail on a 7,500.00 dollar bond.
