An Alderson Police Officer Returns Home After Months In The Hospital From A Shooting

ALDERSON (WOAY) – A police officer injured while off duty was able to finally return home today after months of hospitalizations.

On October 27th, Alderson Police Officer McCaden “Mike” Brackenrich was shot while off duty. He was taken to CAMC in Charleston that night. For the past several months, Brackenrich has been receiving treatment at the Shepherd Center in Georgia. At one point he was unable to breathe on his own, but today was a good day, as he is finally home. He was greeted at the airport by family and friends and escorted home by a line of first responder vehicles.

We continue to wish Brackenrich and all of his families well wishes and prayers as they continue to heal.
