WOAY-TV (Oak Hill, WV): The heat is starting to slowly dissipate, though it is not going without a fight. More isolated to scattered thunderstorms are expected to form this afternoon and evening, with some severe potential attached. Damaging winds are the main concern, though flooding and hail are also low-chance threats. We’ll continue to see more storms and showers as an active weather pattern begins. Friday will kick off the active weather pattern with some moderate rain, although isolated downpours can bring more rain into the equation as well. Heavier rain is likely from stronger thunderstorms, which will last through Friday and start to weaken into the weekend. Most places across the region will receive around a quarter to a half inch of rain. Below is the 48 hour rainfall forecast:

Saturday will bring more rain and storms as a low-pressure system passes to our north before leaving behind on and off showers Sunday, making for another rainy weekend. The beginning of the work week will be much of the same, as more rain Monday is followed up by a cold front directly passing us on Tuesday.
