Active Southern West Virginia to hold volunteer trainings at the end of the month

FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (WOAY) – Active Southern West Virginia is looking for more volunteers to join their team.

The nonprofit hosts exercise and wellness events across Southern West Virginia and they’re looking for volunteers to lead their events like walks, hikes and bike rides.

Executive Director Melanie Seiler says there are no requirements as they are just looking for leaders who are passionate about guiding others toward healthy lifestyles.

“They don’t need any previous experience. We do all of the training,” she said. “We provide ongoing support and we get everybody ready. We’re doing online trainings, and it can be as simple as leading a weekly walking group in your neighborhood.”

You can check out their Facebook page for details on the training that will take place on July 25 and 26.
