A Traffic Stop leads to a drug arrest in McDowell County

MCDOWELL COUNTY, WV (WOAY)- A traffic stop led to a driver bring under the influence of drugs,  intoxicated and also in possession of packaged quantities of crystal meth and prescription medications.

The traffic stop took place on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at approx. 2:30 A.M. on  US Rt. 52 near Iaeger, McDowell County when he observed a vehicle being operated erratically.

The driver was identified as twenty-eight year old Taylor Holcomb, from Iaeger.

The stop revealed Ms. Holcomb was operating the vehicle with a suspended license and while under the influence of drugs and/or intoxicants. Subsequent investigation by Trooper Woods revealed Ms. Holcomb to be in possession of packaged quantities of crystal meth with a street value of approximately $1,400.00 along with prescription medications.

Ms. Holcomb was arrested for Left of Center, Driving Suspended, DUI 1st Offense, Unlawful Possession and Possession with Intent to Deliver. She was remanded to the Welch Holding Facility pending arraignment. She was later arraigned by McDowell County Magistrate Steve Cox with a $30,000.00 bond. She remained in custody of the holding facility pending transfer to the Southwestern Regional Jail in Logan.
