BEAVER, WV (WOAY)- A new official state historical marker is coming to Raleigh County.
The Raleigh County Historical Society’s Historical Marker Program will commemorate the Grandview Monitor this Thursday June 27th at 9am. The site will be just outside of the entrance to the Grandview section of the New River Gorge National Park, on state RT 9 Grandview Rd.
This historical marker was purchased with a community grant from the Beckley Area Foundation. It is also the 39th marker installed by this program and is the last in the series.
The public is invited to attend.
