A Bluefield Man Dead After Putting Lives Of State Troopers in Jeopardy

On Saturday, January 7th, around 9pm, at the Twelve Mile Road area of Princeton, Troopers were responding to a Shots Fired incident.

The suspect is a 25 year old named Daniel Scott Giberson, who felt the scene.  Troopers later encountered Giberson Driving on Twelve Mile Road and a pursuit took place, after he refused to stop.

Giberson crashed his vehicle into a tree stump on Maple Acres Road.  He then held a knife to his throat and refused Officer commands as they approached his vehicle.

The Suspect was shot after wielding his knife at State Troopers.  State Police later learned Giberson was wanted in South Carolina for aggravated assault, and had been labeled a violent offender, due to acts of violence aimed at law enforcement.
