A Beckley Man Is In Jail After He Cut Another Man’s Throat

BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – One man is in jail after he slit another man’s throat.

According to a criminal complaint, Police arrived on scene and found the suspect, Craig Conway, sitting on the sidewalk in front of the house with a silver pocket knife beside him.   Police found the victim on his porch holding a towel to his neck.

The victim stated that he and Conway were upstairs with a female and that he couldn’t remember what he said to the female, but that Conway became upset with him.  Conway pushed the victim down approximately 12 steps and then came down and cut him across the throat.

Conway told police that the victim had made inappropriate hand gestures to the female and that made him cut him.  Conway stated that he had messed up and didn’t mean to hurt the victim.

Conway is charged with malicious wounding and is being held in the Southern Regional Jail under a 10,000 dollar bond.
