BECKLEY, WV (WOAY) – One man is facing malicious wounding charges after he cut a man with glass and left his skull showing.
Accordig to court documents, on Monday, May 28, 2018, Police were called to a shelter on a bike trail at the bottom of Prince Street.
A witness says he was sitting there when James Holt attacked another man for no reason by punching him in the face. Holt then grabbed what appeared to be a piece of glass and cut him.
The officer says he observed a large laceration on the victim with a cut from his hairline down to the bridge of his nose. The cut appeared to be around 1/2 to 1/3 of an inch wide with his skull showing.
The victim was transported to the hospital for emergency surgery to the severity of his injuries.
James Holt is being held in the Southern Regional Jail under a 40,000 dollar bond.
