Fayette County Man Arrested For Attacking A Man With A Knife And Cutting Him

OAK HILL, WV (WOAY) – A Fayette County man is in jail after he attacked another man with a knife and severely wounded him.

On Monday, May 14, 2018, an Oak Hill Police Officer was called to the scene of a man who was severely wounded with several cuts on his hands, head, and several other places of bruising and lacerations.  The victim told the officer that a Ricky Griffin attacked him with a knife and then fled the scene.  Police attempted to apprehend the suspect but he fled.

The incident started after the suspect told police that the victim owed him money. The victim told Police that Mr. Griffin was not allowed at the residence and then began to attack him.

Police found the knife on the scene that contained blood traces on the blade and handle.

Griffin was charged with malicious wounding and fleeing from law enforcement. Griffin is in the Southern Regional Jail under a 5,000 dollar bond.
