Lake Stephens Looking for New Superintendent After Money Goes Missing

BECKLEY– The search is underway for a new superintendent of Lake Stephens.

This comes after the sudden resignation of former superintendent Michelle Walker. She left her post after an $18,000 shortfall was found in the budget. Raleigh County Commission President Dave Tolliver says a new daily drop policy will be adopted, as the $18,000 discrepancy is investigated by the Raleigh County Sheriff ‘s Department.

Tolliver also says they interviewed their first candidate for the job on Tuesday.

No word yet on what exactly happened to the money.
