SEVERN, Md. (AP) — Police in Maryland are offering up to $10,000 for information about a shooting that paralyzed a college football player and injured a 17-year-old.
The Capital Gazette reported Friday that the shooting occurred at a New Year’s Eve party in Severn, which is south of Baltimore.
Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, confirmed that football player Larry Aaron was shot. The 19-year-old is redshirt freshman defensive tackle at the university.
His mother, Melissa Aaron, told The Herald-Dispatch in Huntington that her son was left paralyzed by the shooting after the bullet became lodged in his spine. Aaron is from Columbia, Maryland.
A 17-year-old male was also shot at the party. Maryland’s Anne Arundel County Police Department said in a statement that anyone with recordings, photographs or information should contact police.
