Third arrest in Mullens home invasion case

OCEANA - Police in Wyoming County arrested a third suspect in connection to a violent home invasion.

According to prison records, Travis Lafferty, 29, was charged with nighttime burglary, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, and malicious assault. 

Oceana Police Chief Jeff Barlow told Newswatch that Lafferty was wanted in connection to the incident that happened at Robert Noon's residence.  Barlow said that with the help of Mullens Police and the Wyoming County Sheriff's Department, they apprehended Lafferty at the Oceana Apartments on Wednesday.  

He remained in Southern Regional Jail Thursday morning.  

The investigation is ongoing.
