Teacher charged with kidnapping waives time period for preliminary hearing

FAYETTEVILLE - The Fayette County teacher charged with kidnapping a student waived the time period for his preliminary hearing. 

Joshua Taylor, 30, of Weirton had his lawyer appointed Tuesday. The date for his preliminary hearing has not been scheduled yet. 

Taylor was arrested in connection to the alleged kidnapping of a 13-year-old Oak Hill girl. He taught at Collins Middle School, where the girl is enrolled. 

Taylor remains in Southern Regional Jail.
