BECKLEY – A Raleigh County man up against attempted murder charges rejects a plea deal for lesser charges in front of a judge today.

Dylan Morgan, 22, was arrested in November 2012 and charged with attempted murder and assault of a law enforcement officer.

He rejected a deal today to plead guilty to lesser charges of fleeing and unlawful wounding, a deal that could have put him behind bars for up to six years.

The deal includes the lesser of several charges, including attempted murder and assault of an officer, each of which carries a sentence of 3 to 15 years.

The offer to accept plea deal remains on the table until March 10, two weeks before he goes on trial on March 25.

Morgan is being held in the Northern Correctional Center in Moundsville.
