FAYETTEVILLE - A Raleigh County Correctional Officer accused of distributing prescription pills in Fayette County entered a guilty plea in circuit court Monday morning.

James Howard Butcher, 42, pleaded guilty to a delivery of a controlled substance charge.  Butcher was arrested after deputies executed a search warrant back in August at a residence in Fayetteville.  Sheriff Steve Kessler said deputies found more than $3,000 worth of the drug Roxycodone, more than $4,000 cash, and a large amount of firearms.

Butcher faces one to 15 years in prison and a $25,000 fine at his sentencing scheduled for March 10, 2014.
