Hico man pleads not guilty to driving drunk with his young daughter in the backseat

FAYETTEVILLE - A Hico man faces felony and misdemeanor charges for allegedly driving drunk with his young daughter in the backseat.

Thomas Michael Brown, 35, is charged with child neglect creating risk of injury, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended or revoked license and driving under the influence of alcohol while having an unemancipated minor in the vehicle. He pleaded not guilty.

In October 2013, Brown was driving south on U.S. 19 near the New River Gorge Bridge when he was pulled over for reckless driving, according to the criminal complaint. Brown failed the standardized field sobriety test and blew a .247 on the breathalyzer. Brown was released on a bond he posted prior.
