State officials announce West Virginia has experienced its first decrease in prescription drug abuse since 2008.
That statistic and progress and recommendations in the Governor's Advisory Council on Substance Abuse is now available online.
Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin allocated $7.5 million for abuse prevention, early intervention, treatment and recovery. That funding is used to help non-served areas with additional detox units and expanded sites.
The information can now be found online at www.governor.wv.gov.
