PRINCETON - An organization in Mercer County hosted an open house on Tuesday; even with the snow they were eager to open their doors to the area they serve.

The Children’s Home Society of Southern West Virginia, located in Princeton, had outgrown its old building. Organizers said they will keep moving around as needed in order to accommodate the children and families in Mercer County. A local businessman was actually the reason this organization was able to move into the old library building. Site manager said she hopes to someday be able to downgrade, because that will mean that more children are in stable homes and families are able to make it on their own. She said, until then, they will invite the community in to get as many people as possible involved in their program.”It was just one of those things that we were location, location as we were at the right place at the right time and it just seemed like it was meant to happen this way,” Joanne Boileau.

Organizers said they are excited to show off the new building to everyone at the open house, but are more excited to better serve the children and families of this community.
