PINEVILLE - A multi-million dollar elementary school opened its doors in Wyoming County.
The new Pineville Elementary School was a $12 million project that took at least 2.5 years to complete, according to Superintendent Frank Blackwell. The school hosted an open house Tuesday night to let the community tour the building.
About 450 students from pre-kindergarten to fourth grade have been roaming the halls since classes began January 2. Blackwell said the students are excited to be in the new school. “When you saw the smiles and the bright faces of all those kids that walked in that first morning, that made…everything we had to do to build that school worthwhile,” he said.
Blackwell said employees moved the materials from the former school to the new school during the holiday break so that classes could start on time.
